Okay, everybody now knows the cut was at +4, and that Brian Gay missed by two. I think my 50+ tweets covered that waterfront.

I'm back in Atlanta, and there's still a U.S. Open Championship to decide, one we need to talk about. You have something to say . . .

Let's hear it!

THE USGA HAS RUINED THE US OPEN................

I want Oakmont, Southern Hills, Oakland Hills, Olympic Club, Hazeltine, AAC, #2, Congressional, ect ect.

20 yard FWS and 6 inch rough, concrete greens

miss the fw a foot and pitch out stuff................oh wait I forget the USGA only cares about f'ing tiger winning. I swear they wanted him to win 3 in a row hence the torry, black and pebble rotation.

I mean really back in the day, with a US OPEN set up, it could rain 3 inches and you would never know.......cause the course was already dry, now 2 inches and the place floods.

USGA>>>>>>>>PLEASE MOVE BACK TO A REAL COURSE WITH A REAL SET UP<<<<<<

the US open is suppose to find the best golfer, not who can bomb it then power it out of the medium rough.

I miss the days where Janzen and Payne where always there.........well there is still the Open Championship where golf is still pure, albiet at Turnberry.

sorry for the rant

WOW, sorry needham, but I disagree. At most venues the course would be unplayable after this much rain. The USGA and Bethpage are doing a HELL of a job dealing with the cards they have been dealt!

Sorry needham, I didn't know you were a Super. I should not have stepped on your opinion. I know nothing about that side of our business, a very difficult, thankless job, where you are at the mercy of the Golf Gods!

Regards,
Kevin

I think that the Greenkeeper and the crew need even more credit. Seems to be glossed over a bit, but I cannot fathom how they are doing this great of a job.

Bethpage is great, but the USGA seems to struggle with the fine line between being tough and still being fair. I'd rather see this US Open at Bethpage than the years in the past where they overcooked the greens. While the US Open should be determined with a winner at even par, you still should be rewarded when you hit a reasonbly good shot.

I remember watching Ricky Barnes for a few holes back when they played the BellSouth at TPC Sugarloaf and came away unimpressed. His swing looks much better now, but it still seems to have some of his old look to it and it may be creeping back into his game. Pressure does that to you.

My guess is Glover wins.

I hope I never have to hear Chris Berman do anything with golf ever again...make that all sports...well, maybe something like the Lower Oakland Roller Derby playoffs would suffice. He simply doesn't understand and/or care that the sporting events that he announces is about the players on the field, not getting one's self over with tired, cliched and obnoxious puns and nicknames.
